So I found this on yahoo, and it was a list of bans from 2011
Having eyes: Saudi Arabia’s Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice sought the right to ban women from possessing “suggestive” eyes. What are suggestive eyes? According to one Saudi journalist, any woman whose eyes have a “nice shape” could be in deep trouble.
Hahaha. and HA. Are you kidding me? These women are already covered head to toe. Now you’re going to over analyze the only body part that’s exposed?! Can I just add that their eyes are exposed so they don’t walk into things. I mean I kind of think its a good idea if they can see where they’re going. ANYWAYS, putting a ban on the shape of your eyes has to be one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. It’s like banning anything that’s natural to your body. Like putting a ban on having arms! Because those are so suggestive right? And even if they were these so-called eyes, it wasn’t an invitation to get in their pants. It’s like people always try to blame their horniness on women. It’s not their fault you’re attracted to them! It’s yours. Oh, and if you do find someone attractive, it’s definitely no justification to treat them like a meat puppet or even in the worst case scenario to rape them. It’s like a renewed version of victim blaming except now they’ve put the government on their side. Men can freely victim blame and maybe even get away with rape and they have the laws that give them the right to. I feel like we just took a step back instead of forward with this ban and it’s sickening.
Another thing that bugs me about it is how its forcing the regulation of what make up women wear. I feel like these women already endure enough oppression with the enforcement of their dress code. (THEY LOOK LIKE THEYRE DRAPED IN BLACK SHEETS) And now they’re controlling what nature has naturally given them. Or however they choose to do their make up. Either way, their government owns their right to control their bodies, and the only little thing they had left is gone now too. It’s just over kill! It should be their choice and under their control. If they want to wear make up to shape their eyes “suggestively” (whatever the fuck that means) then they should be able to damn it. Or if they choose to not wear any and someone finds their natural eyes attractive, they shouldn’t have to answer to the law. It all just goes back to the idea of power and control over women and i don’t like it one bit.
;) <— is this what they mean by “suggestive” eyes??? lol
