So a few days ago I was checking my email on yahoo, and on the right where they always have those stories, among them I saw one that seriously caught my attention. It was about a woman named Michelina Lewandowska and she had been buried alive by her fiance! Ironically she was able to dig herself out using the engagement ring the jackass gave her. She used it to cut herself free from the tape they tied her up with and to cute herself out of the cardboard box that was her coffin.
When I read this, I felt sick to my stomach. Not only is this just wrong between any humans, notice that it is mostly the male who commits acts of violence against their partners. Like are you serious?! You buried your fiance ALIVE in a cardboard box? THe violence needs to stop here. Since the beginning of time, women have been battered and beaten by their “significant other” and are forced to take it. When are we going to say enough is enough?
Everyday women are experiencing violence from their loved ones and this violent pattern of life needs to be corrected. In our country alone (USA) 3 out of 4 women are experiencing domestic violence in the home. That’s exactly 74%, and thats not including the many who don’t even speak out about it. How many women must die at the hands of boyfriends, husbands, or lovers before we realize society needs to break the cycle?
