Can you think of a time when you called a girl a slut? Or maybe when someone called you one? Most likely you have, The word is thrown around so easily but have you ever really thought about what the word means? Or what really makes someone a “slut?
Firstly, I hate this freaking word. It just reminds me how jealous and judgemental people are about others’ sex lives. It’s just another word that’s used to oppress women and to make them feel ashamed of their sexual behavior. People should mind their own damn business and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing. If having lots of sex or a little sex or no sex at all makes that individual happy, then we should let them be if that’s what they want. It should be up to the person engaging it or not engaging in it to whom their sex life is known to. It is no one’s right to judge you or label you because of how you like to please your body. It’s no one’s business but your own.
Those who aren’t keeping their noses out of others’ business are most likely jealous anyway. Either that or they feel threatened by you in some way. Or at least that’s how I see it. As I have heard in my women’s studies class, my professor said that if you use the term “slut” it can also translate to:
